PALMERA DESTINATION SERVICES HOSTS THE "PUNTA CANA SPRING CLASSIC" AND "SOL MELIÁ PUNTA CANA OPEN" GOLF TOURNAMENTS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC IN 2009

2009 is finally here, and golf is more popular than ever in the Dominican Republic! In 2008 two major events happened, which are sure to boost the golf tourism in the Punta Cana area and in the whole country. At the IGTM fair in Marbella, Spain in November the Dominican Republic received the award for "Golf Destination of the Year - Caribbean and Latin America" and in December the new Faldo Legacy Course at Roco Ki (Nick Faldo Signature golf course) opened.
In March 2009 the famous Punta Espada golf course will once again host the PGA Champions Tour and Palmera Destination Services is hosting the Punta Cana Spring Classic golf tournament in the same days and including one day to watch the pros play their final round. In October 2009 Palmera Destination Services is hosting the Punta Cana Open golf tournament - this time together with Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts as the new, official partner. INTRODUCTION: Palmera Destination Services is a tour operator and DMC (Destination Management Company) based in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic . The company has been operating since 2000 and has grown steadily year after year; specializing in golf travel, groups & incentives and providing high quality services to individual travellers & groups of all sizes.

- Personalized room gifts (e.g. cigars with company logo, jewelry, paintings, etc.).
- Private airport transfers in comfortable, air-conditioned vans/busses (meet & greet included)
- Personalized welcome letter and/or welcome briefing with your personal representative.
- Daily representative service and/or hospitality desk (half/full day) with multi lingual staff.
- Golf services (tee time reservations, tournament planning and management and golf lessons).
- Excursions (for individuals or customized for groups).
